Here is what I thought about the dish. It was pretty simple to make considering it was gnocchi. (I was surprised) But I have to say I thought it was a little slimy. The flavor was good but I don't know if I would make it again. (Also he used a food mill I didn't have one so I simply forked through my potatoes)
Ingredients:
Gnocchi Dough:
2 Pound of Potato's
2 Eggs
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
Salt & Pepper
4 Cups Tomato Sauce
1/3 Cup of Chopped Fresh Basil
2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
Garlic to taste
Salt
Mozzarella Cheese (I used 2 cheese sticks)
Parmesan Cheese (As a garnish)
1. Boil the potatoes. Once the potatoes are tender to the fork & the skins are cracking drain water & peal potatoes.
2. Fork through the potatoes so they are kind of like a smash, add eggs & flour
3. Mix the dough together so that it is well combined and kneed for about 4 minutes until it is somewhat dry
4. Lightly dust your counter with flour and roll out your dough. Once you have rolled it out you can cut into 1 in pieces.
5. In a pot of bowling water (salt water) Put in cut Gnocchi. When you 1st put it in the gnocchi will sink to the bottom. Once the Gnocchi starts to float to the top they are ready to be taken out the water
6. In a separate sauce pan combine tomato sauce, red pepper flakes, garlic, & the gnocchi. Combine well and let it marinate on the stove for about 1 minute.
7. Then add the mozzarella to the gnocchi (while still on the stove) Let it melt a little.
8. Then add the basil mix & serve into a bowl & top with Parmesan Cheese
Happy Planning Everyone!

The first time I have ever had gnocchi was in Rome 8 years ago and I crave it to this day! So I can't wait to make this today.
